A little bit of history is that Cetacean Research Saddle Cups began as GelRelease™ cups. Researchers Rod Hobbs and Kim Sheldon creatively used Gummi Bears as the original release mechanism. Because the release timing is too unpredictable (despite retiring the gummi bears), the GelRelease™ cups are no longer made unless specifically requested by the researcher.
